There's Freedom and then There's Freedom

Now come on you journalists, you're abusing our Freedom of Information Act by asking a lot of damn impertinent questions. We didn't kindly put this act in place to allow the press to forever ask questions of us the government. Our time can't be taken up explaining what we are doing or what we have done, if this trend continues it will hamper our efforts to be a modern, open and transparent government. Look at the questions you've asked. Who could possibly be interested in the amount of expenses our hard-working MPs have claimed over the year? Who would want to know how many London police officers have criminal records? What is the possible use of knowing how many of our most prestigious restaurants have failed health checks? Why would anybody be interested in the number of meetings I have had with Americans about setting up a casino in the Dome; 13 since you ask. If you journalists insist on asking questions then for the benefit of everybody we will have to curtail the act so we can deliver freedom of information more effectively. There's always someone who ruins it for everybody else, isn't there?
