Hey Dude 1984 What's That About?

You got to love these two on a web site talking about 1984 by George Orwell.


In my opinion, 1984 was an alright book. To be honest however, I did not get as involved with it as this book demands. I believe that all in all, if i were to actually read it in depth and analyze it better than I did, this book would have taught me a lot more. I recomend this book to people that do not have a clue what is going on around them and do not understand the complexity of the control that our government already has. I do advise however, that if you are thinking about reading this book, really think about it. Do not just read it to read it. Read it to understand and ponder about it. Granted, many parts of 1984 are boring and unmoving but, if you are a good reader and can get through it, I think that you can learn a lot from it. I also think that it is amazing that Orwell could write about the issues that he does in 1948. I do not understand how he could possibly have all of these warped ideas about the future society and have them all be true.

I personally dont really understand this book!!:flare: But i did catch on to room 101 it was pretty torturous...what i dont get is why o'brien is doing this to winston?? i got really confused toward this part of the book!! i do know that the torture was so horrid that he wanted them to take in julia instead the pain was so unbearable!!... i just dont get why!! Could you please help me thanks
