HOMEOWNERS, borrowers and businesses are celebrating today after the Bank of England announced a reduction in interest rates for the second consecutive month.The Bank's Monetary Policy Committee made the decision to reduce rates by a quarter point to 5.25 per cent after a range of economic indicators and company results suggested consumers needed a boost to get them spending again.
